Nawaz said PML-N would never tolerate the politics of corruption, incompetence and fruitlessness. "Such things not only defame politicians but also put democracy in jeopardy," he added. He said the PML-N emerged as the most popular political party of the country due to its principled stance regarding fulfilment of democratic pledges made by the nation.
Nawaz rejected the impression that PML-N was a friendly opposition and said his party never compromised on national interests. He asked the government to sack NRO-tainted ministers till their acquittal from the court of law. He said one man should not have the power to decide the fate of the country. These powers should be handed over to the people of the country through their elected representatives.
He hinted at reorganising the party in consultation with the party workers and termed the consultation as the bedrock principle of PML-N politics. It was also decided in the PML-N meeting that the party would establish think tanks on politics, economy, education, health etc. The PML-N also decided to evolve a comprehensive programme for inclusion of youth and women in the party.-PR
